Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knew of an exchange business for cat guttered pipes around the place for my 2013 Roadking? I heard there was someone around the Geelong/Werribee area who did an exchange but cant find anymore info or addresses etc ....... Thanks in advance canetoad

    Hi All,
No problem now as I ordered a set from the USA with new flange gaskets for $200 delivered..... also found a post in another forum with my exact setup and they got a 10hp increase and a louder note on their monster ovals, plus it drops your engine heat considerably, a good move all round eh!

Hi Canetoad,, I read on the US forums that you send in your old cat pipe , and they exchange with de- catted pipe !!! I take it this was not the case in your dealings with the US supplier ?? ie, $200 delivered , and you still have your old header pipe !!! Cheers.

    Hi Mark,

Yes I didnt have to exchange so I have the originals just in case the EPA gets hold of me sometime, and I should of added US$200 delivered but was a good purchase regardless cause wouldnt get them here for anywhere near that and considering the all round improvements you get from the cat gut, and I forgot to mention the fuel consumption drop as well as the engine temp drop both of which are great enticements eh! but I was after the extra decibels for my monster ovals eh!

    Hi All,
I guess I should update my thoughts on what I think of the cat gutted headers mod now I have had them on for a while, and I also have the exhaust valve removed.

my 2013 road king has a stage one kit with a SE module & stage one upload
XIED module (for enriching the fuel)
    V&H Monster ovals

My reasons for doing the gut was really just to get some more noise out of my monster ovals, though I liked the note on them, with that said I have noticed that the pipes don't sound that much louder when starting the bike but seem to get somewhat louder as they warm up, but on decal they have quite an appreciable note and loudness so overall the pipes have kept their unique tone with some increased volume and I am very happy with that part of it. But it seems to me that I have also gotten increased fuel savings, so what adding the XIED's took away I have gotten back, so I dare to say that if I took those off I would get a very nice bonus in fuel savings. Then there is the feeling of extra torque and response to the throttle which is gratifying as well ........ so all in all I am very pleased with the cat gutt move on my 2013 Road king.

Has there been a noticeable change in the heat output?

    Hi Chaser,
Yes there has been a drop in heat on my thighs but I haven't ridden in any really hot weather yet, but the other benefits were worth the move
