Quieting down 103 motor

Has anyone out there, found a way of quieting down the new 103 motor. I have a 2013 heritage with 3000kays, sounds like a noisy sewing machine. I've had it back to the dealer and they had a listen and said that this is how they all sound. I previous had an 2007 Dyna which didn't sound anything like this. I know they are different motors.

I have tried different weight oils but made no difference.

Have been told that an upgrade to better lifters and a SE high volume oil pump will quiet it down.

Has anyone tried this update? or does anyone else know another way of quieting the motor down.

    Thanks

Dont get me wrong here but if you are riding with a helmet on its that bloody loud that you cannot hear the motor (Noisy or otherwise) i would have thiought

I assume you are referring to it when the bikes at idle and you have your helmet off ?

You can still hear noise when on bike with helmet on. The noise comes more from the top of the motor. It's more like a sewing machine whir.

I didn't think there'd be much of a difference between the noise of the 96 and 103 top end of the motors, although I know they changed the lifters about three times and the second lot were the best, most reliable and longest lasting

I do.....I can swap you an 883 Sporty Motor for your loud and horrid 103! The Sporty one is very quiet....

As said , "that's just the way they are mate"

The "balanced" motors have more mechanical complexity than the Dyna/Tourer motors of course.

Within every manufacturers range there will be quieter/noisier motors

Maybe yours is at the "noisier end of acceptable"

On my CVO's the motors are noisy , but the straight thru' pipes are NOISIER.

You've reported it so keep monitoring it !
