Try and do a show n tell on last weeks spanner time
This isn't a "How to do it".. rather how I did it....
seat n tank off 1st...
First problem I encountered, was one of the banjo/breather outlet bolts would not budge..
All manner of remedy was tried, even ring spanners were just rounding the soft shit metal that there made of,
It might not help that a lot of the ugly galv boltheads on my bike , I have brass plated, [using a blacksmith method involving heat]
and in the end I just drilled the head of it off, and will take it down to old mate to extract later.. bastard thing
ooopps jumped the gun with the picture continuity, DOH
any hoo, pulled the cam bearings out, as S&S supply Torrington bearings with there cams
Incidentally, checking crank run out we casme up with 6thou at the end of pinion shaft...
So glad I didnt go Gear drive cams
with the lids off, the bores are sweet as, pphheew, its only got 10,750 k's on it, so no big surprise there
any way I'll have to add more shortly, Ive got curried snags on the stove
Dont forget to pull out ya lifters before you pull camchest out, or they will just drop into empty cam department. I remembered, just a handy hint..
Torrington bearing on the left, complete needle bearings, minus cage, unlike factory jobs inferior design
New easy start cams with a liberal dose of [I cant believe its not butter] pre assembly lube..
another "incidentally", I was pleased with how clean the original inlet port was
sticking the new cams in, also put a Bailey oil pressure relief valve spring in... [look it up]
lining up the marks on chain drive, ensures cam timing correctly positioned
Bloody snags are nearly ready, BRB
Ok where was I...
Heres a peek at S&S's own lil touch, a little air wing in the inlet port
said to reduce turbulence [witchcraft]
Winding new Quickee pushrods up to "Zero lash"
firmly in their seats, yet able to turn freely in fingertips, without any up n down movement..
Marking one of the "flats"
To count 4 full turns of each rod [= .125" - correct adjustment]

After putting all the bike back together, hooked battery up, and fuckin oil light was on, before I even turned ignition on...
Took a night and 1/2 a day to track it down to a tiny pin in the speedo plug under tank had sunk in its socket..
It took a couple more hours to find a pair of needle nose pliers [watchmakers size] to pull the lil sucker back up.
We then coated the plug insides with contact grease, and slid it back together carefully
This is an older pic, but this is the bike complete..
Waiting on Progressive 430 rears shox, and drop in lowering Progressive front springs,
Its already got Progressive [stock height] front springs, but I want to lower it an inch
