Went on the Southern Cross Assoc Poker Run again for the 3rd time,31-8-14 to 5-914. Got back to Airlie Beach after 9 days on the rd and 5,100 plus k's. 1600 just to get to the start at Noccundra Pub,(bottom left hand cnr of Qld)Population 4!! Weather was perfect with only a few light showers on the way back home on the coast. 450 bikes all up. Shitloads of Emu's,cattle,horses,goats,pigs,roos. I was with a mate on a V-Rod,and saw him near get wiped out by bolting Emu's,fuck it was so close, about 20m in front of me.Wish me boy wouldve loaned me his go-pro. I'm buying one now. I was getting about 350k's outta a 19L tank full,which I thought was pretty good. Good enough anyway,plus its time for a breather to at that. Used about 20ml of oil. Got cold at Mitchell, zero deg at night there. Texas bout the same. Cuppla prangs,one a baddie,broke his leg,arm and smashed his face in, riding on the dirt.dunno how it happened or how the guy (from Mackay) is,but I hope he's over the worst by now. Cant wait til next yrs one, and ride with people who are genuine riders. Mostly ol farts like me,but WTF....

Not a good pic,but we're flying along round a cnr and came across shitloads of xxxx stubbies smashed everywhere all over the rd. Obviously stopped to see if there were any full ones,but only found one. A pallet has come undone on a del truck and dropped it. So, there's a stubbie on my shed shelf,and if anyone asks, "Whats so important bout that stubbie?" Oh,it fell off the back of a truck!! The runway
This guy "Whippa" I bumped into at Noccundra,had been way out bush him/missus/trailer complete with jenny/fridge and all the gear on his VW trike. You cant half tell he's a trucky going by the exhaust pipes,which he made himself. Lots of VW trikes (one in the background) and Can Am's to. Having a rippa of a time!!!!

He had 2 ops on his arm to put his elbow back together & 2 on his leg to pin it back straight.
Plenty of physio to come
But he get there mate..got a good misses looking after him..
I'll log on at his joint next time I'm there and give him a look at this thread I think he'll get a kick out knowing you guys are talking about him.
He will probaly want to steal some of your pics to mate especially the one with his bike in the ute.
Got a few of the boys together and organised to pick his bike up from Roliies and get it back up here. He has the parts half way sorted to get it back together.
He's thinking of paint jobs now so I think it will be dam hard to stop him throwing a leg over as soon as he can...be awhile yet though I'm thinking.
