Anyone out there ever replaced the SMALLER (not the main) globe in their Sporty ?

I want to replace the globe a whiter brighter one, which I have done with the main globe, but I can't even get the bloody wires off the back of it to remove the globe.

Any known trick to what should be such an easy disconnection and replacement ?

Sounds like the start of a joke. How many owners does it take to change a Sportsters park light?

The 2 wires should just pull off, sometimes they will bond to the tags, help them off very carefully with a flat bladed screw driver.
Once the wires are off rotate the globe holder to release it from the reflector.

I actually felt stoopid asking the question.
I will give it a try tnite.
You sound like you know what you are talking about.
My next question is whether that globe actually required, because I suspect once (if) I get the globe out I might have trouble finding a white replacement globe. It will be non-standard I bet.
Can I just leave it out and rely on the main globe?

Sorry la0055 but I don't know for sure but my guess it is not required. But if you leave it out dirt and other STUFF will get on the inside of the glass and on the reflecting surfaces. To try it just disconnect one of the wires that goes to it and see what happens.

If I can get one of the bastards off that is probably what I will do, and simply leave the existing globe in there but not operational.

If you age going to do that, remove the black one, it's an earth or - connection

No doubt about you Chris, they came off easily with a bit of flat screwdriuver persuasion.

I left the bulb disconnected and will just use the main bulb.
