    Hi All,

I was thinking about trying to get a bit more noise out of my vance and hinze monster ovals and wondered if anyone had already tried this out?  and if so would you share what your thoughts are on the new note and volume please..... thanks for any input

    Hey Canetoad

I have a Street Glide with Monster Rounds and was thinking similar when I first got it. Looking into the pipe from the rear I noticed steel mesh for a few inches into the pipe then a round metal plate, I found this strange as I thought the pipes would flow straight through with no restriction.

After removing the end cap screws underneath, I literally wrestled with the exhaust until I had completely removed the end cap and silencer assembly from the slip on muffler.

This is what is in front of the end cap assembly. I just refitted the end cap which incorporated the mesh and the round metatarsal plate. If you look at the pipes at the moment they appear as standand Monster Rounds. The noise level has increased, however, I do not consider it to be obnoxious in any way

    Cheers

WOW!! you really got stuck into that Auldy! ........ not to be funny, but that sounds good so I will have a look see into the ovals and see, though I am assuming that was what is called the baffle yes? ...... oh and thanks for your input.

and thanks chinashop doll, I have 22000ks on my Ovals so that is why I was after a bit more noise....... I like the note they produce but a few more decibels would be cool

    Hey Len

If the Monster Ovals use a similar system to the Monster Rounds, the easiest way is to completely remove the slip on muffler from the bike, remove the two end cap screws then drive the assembly out the rear. I ended up using a piece of water pipe to drive the assembly out when doing the second pipe. Doing it this way is easier but still a p#%*k of a job, more so when the Mrs catches you out halfway through - lol

    Regards

    Ken

Get rid of the cat if you have an 09 or later model, and you will get a bit more bark.

Hi Guys, I ended up deciding to purchase a set of headers pipes that had been de-catted, this will give me some more volume in my pipes without touching them(yet) but also give me some other benefits like less heat and fuel consumption but more noise and apparently some more power but that I find hard to believe but am happy to be proved wrong eh!..... so depending on how much louder I get with this I might still have to punch those bits through Ken!
