Hi Guys, I have managed to put a 17x6 200mm Mirror Disc Rear Wheel (43179-08) on my 07 Deuce using the 1" Stock Pulley and Belt. Using info from Andy G and Skramnor I used their info as a starting point, but as all bikes are different it was still trial and error. I have about 1/16 gap between the belt and tire and about 1/16 gap between belt and swingarm. With perfect alignment and the tire is basically centered. Its tight tolerances but it doesn't rub after about 400 miles all good so its good to go. Things Done - Rear Pulley - Had 1/16 Shaved off outer face of pulley to allow more room between pulley and swingarm. Then trial and error I milled 1/16 off the back face of the pulley where the pulley meets the rim. But that wasn't enough so I milled another 1/16 then another 1/16 almost 1/8 until I got 1/16 gap between belt and tire. (this was a PIA as I had to put tire on align it all check belt, then remove it, shave some more off, then check it again. Did this about 5 times) Brake Tab - I took off about 1/4 off brake tab and a slight 45 degree angle going down. So it looks similar to the 2007 FXSTC Brake Tab. (this is so wheel will fit in swing arm) Brake Caliper - I took about a 1/4" off bottom of brake caliper so wheel would fit in swing arm and clear the rim and valve stem. (this was trial and error and resulted in a few MOFO scratches on my rim which really PMO) It might pay to have a mate help you take the rim off and put it on to avoid this painful part. I was by myself. As you put the rim/wheel on (Must Leave Rotor Off) , because there is limited space, you have to put rim/wheel in first, then slide the brake caliper in place, then slide the brake rotor in through the back and bolt it up and push rest of axle through while inserting spacer. Yup PIA. But this will be obvious when you are doing it, you will work it out pretty quick. and then Yup reverse order to take rim/wheel off again. Did I mention its a PIA. Thats why I highly recommend a mate to assist! When you put rim/wheel on it is ok to leave the Pulley on as this won't be a problem unlike the rotor side. Right Spacer - I shaved the right spacer (break side) to a total width of 5/16. The bearings in this rim are meant to be for 1" axle but as I have a 3/4" axle the bearings (PN# 9267) they are slightly wider and stick out the rim just a fraction, so to get the exact same space as the deuce wheel I had to make spacer 5/16". You could just buy new spacers, but I used my original spacer, as I don't intend going back to the original rim. Left Spacer - This was trial and error I shaved some off my original spacer, and miscalculated and took too much off, So I just added some 3/4 washers, I think 2 1/8" washers, a 1/16 washer and a 1/32 washer in the end to leave me with a gap of 1/16 between belt and swing arm. But you would have to play around with these spacers as mine is different as I stuffed up calculations. Eventually I will get around to the belt guards. My top belt guard actually fits without rubbing tire, about 1/16 gap. Maybe the 2007 Deuce Upper Guard is same as 2007 FXSTC. But the Lower Guard is wider and needs to be notched about 1/8 or 1/4 or so. Or you can buy a 2007 FXSTC Lower Belt Guard. But if your on a budget then just notch it or grind/file it. I took the inner rear fender brackets off and bashed the lower half round wire holders flat and straight (this will be obvious when you see it or take them off) so the tire doesn't rub on the bracket. I also cut one of the bolts off flush with bracket to also avoid tire rubbing. I have rear shock lowering kit on my bike and only lowered it 1/2 inch and tightened up the suspension and so far no rubbing on inside of fender. As you can see the wheel looks pretty centered. I don't even think it comes from the factory this centered. So pretty happy with that. Bleed Rear Brakes when done. I think that is about it. If i think of anything else I will add it to the post. It appears I can only upload 1 photo at a time so I will try and upload more. Cheers Symo
Cheers Guys.
