    Hey fella's...Can someone tell me where I can buy a 21 x 3.5 rim to lace to my 2010 Wideglide hub...I would also consider a complete wheel (black rim,stainless spokes)but haven't been able to find a direct bolt on for my bike...

    Cheers...Sparra

    Thanks for the reply's...The one that was on it was a 21 x 2.15 and I really don't like skinny front wheels...I now have switchback wheels on it thanks to Chinashopbull and it handles heaps better but I want to lift the front up again...I have 2" over fork tubes getting here this week but am also thinking of going back to a 21" front wheel.If I could find a 21" front wheel that was very similar to the Switchback wheels I would go down that route...Also thinking of looking for a Breakout front wheel...

    Hey Steve...I have thought about that as well but at the moment I am just chasing a bit of clearance...I have bassani road rage pipes and the front heat shield  scapes all the time...The 2" over and the 21" rim back on there should fix the problem...

    Hey Sparra ... what about Ride Wright Wheels ... I have a 21 x 3.5 on my Softail , might be just in my head but I reckon it felt heaps better compared to the standard .

    I bought the complete wheel but I am fairly sure you could buy a rim by itself ... not sure if it is a good thing or bad but Rollies is the distributer here in Oz ... might be able to go direct .

    Het TJU, what did you have to change to get the 3.5 front wheel on your softail, have been thinking of doing the same but some i talk to about it tell me i have to change the front guard and others say i dont, but none of them have actually done it.

    Gidday Bakes68 ... Yes and No regarding the front guard ... I suppose the proper correct thing to do would be to change it and depending on how good your paint job is what I did may not be something every one would do but all I did was use a Dermal tool and where the bolt holes are that hold the guard to the forks I just filed away downwards so the end result was the guard lifted upwards .

    It is a pretty close fit that's for sure but in my opinion it is a far better look than the standard 21 rim where the guard seems to sit way to high ... now I was lucky enough to have a back up guard as I didn`t want to cut into my 08 Anniversary paint job but if you put the masking tape around the bolt holes and take it easy I reckon there should be no problem .

    Have a look in my pics section to see if there are any good pics and if not I will take a few from different angles for you if you want ... for me I think the biggest fear originally was the possibility of stones or rocks getting caught between the tyre and the guard ... so far no dramas ... { Touch Wood , Lol }

    No worries Bakes ... not sure I`m someone that knows , Lol ... just know it worked for me ... for me and there is the possibility that it is more in my head than actual being technically correct , but it definitely felt better handling when I went to the wider rim .

    For me it just made sense that with such a wide rear tyre then it would be better to have a slightly wider tyre than standard ... and where I really noticed the difference was it doesn't seem to follow groves in the road as bad as it did before ... I can only imagine how those Tram tracks must feel with the skinny front tyre .

    Don`t know how many choices you have down your way but you could always just get your Hub laced up to a wider rim , that way you can choose your rim and get some Heavy Duty Stainless Steel spokes to add that extra strength and peace of mind ... I went with the Ride Wrights out of USA via Rollies up here in Brisbane .

    Good luck with the wheel ... your bike looks pretty sweet there , have fun ... Tim .

    I am in the process of fitting a Breakout front rim to mine and a mates softy, With ABS Softy its a simple swap and with the Non ABS Soft its just a case of removing the ABS bearing and fitting a non ABS bearing and its a simple fit up, we have some guards on order pretty cheap and will get the painted up, once its all finished I will post up a detailed thread

    Hey there Ando,I have been looking for a breakout front wheel on the obvious sites but they are all in pairs(front and back)...Where did you guys get yours??? Why is it neccesary to change the abs bearings to non abs bearings???
