yeah I agree adrian11. I learn't to ride dirt bikes when I was 12 or 13 or something. Sooo long ago. Memories. And I still do it at 55 yrs. If it's in your blood you JUST know. My dad, uncles and pop all rode in the 40s, 50s and you get my point, shit I even owned 2 Lambretta scooters ha ha ha. To start learning at 40 for a new way of life or whatever is fine but be fuckin carefull, it's like preparing for battle everytime you go out there and no learning or advice can make up for what you learn while riding through the years, If anyone is gonna start learning my advice is stay in a safe spot and don't trust anybody. One good thing about riding but, doesn't matter how long you been doing it everytime I get a new bike it's like starting over. A whole new experience.

I once had a dragster (pushie) I then got a 27 inch racer.
    there was no transition bike.
do you want to ride a trail bike? or a 650?
no you want to ride a Harley

go and buy a Harley, then ride the thing

why would you buy another bike to learn on if you are licensed too ride an open class bike.

what would the advice be if i wanted to buy a horse, go out an get on a broom stick and run around the yard listening to Gangnam style

I was 45 and never sailed a boat before..
I was getting sick of motorbike ownership in Innisfail, [one of the wettest areas in oz]
and thought fuck it, went n bought a 28ft yacht
and had some of the best moments of my life
after 5 years I realised they were a bigger money pit than motorbikes
and sold it, and got another bike [moved to CAIRNS]
If ya want it, you'll get it

I agree, you're never too old! At 45 you should have more road sense than when you were young. Fark, I can remember I started riding when I was 16 and used to fall off with regular monotony. As you get older it seems to hurt more and takes longer to heal, so you think about things before you just go crazy and do stupid stuff. I'm 62 now and still riding my Dyna. Harley's are quite a stable bike, well, Dyna's are anyway, dunno about softies. Just don't go too stupid around corners because things scrape haha You'll have a ball once you're used to it.
