Was up there on the Saturday ... bloody brilliant ... what a turn out ... over 400 entrants and how about the ingenuity of the majority of these guys and Ladies ... great to see bikes going around again at Lakeside .

yeah.. we went out on sat also. took a shit load of pics, but havent figured out hooking the sony phone to the apple... technology shits me sometimes.

seemed like a shit load more than 400 entrants too. the pit area was chaos, and bikes all over the inner track. so much to see and the racing itself was really good. great not just to see these old bikes out and about, but even better seeing them going hard out.

loved seeing WLA s and indians going for it hammer and tong.

your not wrong One up ... I reckon there was more than 400 as well ... got a bit warm around lunch time on Saturday .

Seems there was a bit of sad news on the Sunday though , one of the competitors lost his life in the 2nd last race of the day ... never nice to hear that type of news especially after all the effort the people went through to get racing back on track at Lake side .

My condolences to the family and friends of the rider .

I think everyone knows it can be a dangerous sport and hopefully it doesn't reflect to badly on any future events ... for me I know a wonderful older gent who is in a bit of bad health himself and has been around the Bike engineering scene for decades , both Harleys and British ... He has had a Trummpy Trident T150 on the bench for 35 years , just doing little bits here and there but when he got the news his health was failing he decided to get the beast finished and see it race at least once .

To see the smile on his face when the old girl was blasting around the track was bloody priceless ... he is not well enough to ride it himself ... 6 plug head ... titanium bolts ... hand made exhaust flanges ... a real labour of love ... this guy used to do a lot of work for a fair few Harley shops back in the day , shops would take their work to Ronnie , he would do a bang up job and the shops would take the credit ... never worried him , he just loved working on engines .

I for one hope they get to do more races in the future ... 3 cheers for the older generation , can definitely show some of us younger ones a thing or two .
