Team, just bought a FXDBB Street Bob Special. has anyone got some photos of a sissy bar set up that works with the Badlander seat? Will a wide Glide sissy bar work with the integrated indicator set up?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

i have a demountable bar on mine Mate but i had to change the blinker stems to accomodate the rear mount.

A bonus with this is not only can you remove the shitty bar but you can now run a 180 rear tyre cheeky

    Hi,

From other posts here there is an issue if have the 2014+ up street bobs i think, you cant put the detachable hardware on

But you might be able to use the fixed side plates, would need to see if wiring pins go thru the hole
    Thanks

I have a 2014 Street Bob and there is no issue with the detachable hardware. I have a detachable low sissy bar. Quite low profile when on the bike, but only put it on when the wife is pillion.

You do have to relocate the indicators. I took an idea from an american forum, where you use a softail indicator relocation part and have them on either side of the number plate extension under the rear mudguard. The stock harley relcoation kit is quite ugly IMO.

Sorry, don't have a photo of the bike with the sissy bar on. Can take photos and get part numbers  for the relocation if you're really keen.

    Parts needed are:

    Detachable black sideplates 52124-09    $175

    Kit docking hardware 53797-09 $89

Short rail upright black 52706-07 $89

Smooth short rail backrest pad 52517-94 $76

I originally used the softail indicator relocation kit as seen in the photo above (53959-06 $63) but now have the great bike gear relocation kit (bout $260 shipped I think)

The prices above are what I was charged on my onvoice by the dealer. Some pics of it on the bike.

Just installed a Kurakyn plug and play detachable sissy bar on my FXDBB. Dead easy, no need to mess with the indicators and with the Badlander seat looks like it was installed in the factory.
Photos to follow but check out this Plug and Playbsystem from Kurakyn as it is neater that side plate mounted rigid setups.
the baseplate screws to rear guard under the seat and its a 2 bolt installation with no drilling.

    Photos to follow.

Detachable HD sissy fits with no issues. HD relocation of indicators puts them on the rear anchor point for the bar, either side of the guard. I like the relocation on the guards myself, as it helps keep the "chopped" look on the rear of the guard. Easy to remove/ attach - takes about 30 secs. I only have mine on when I am either travelling with an overnight bag, or the wife is on the back. Works fine with the Badlander seat, and I have now upgraded to a Saddlemen Explorer and still works fine.
