My 06 street bob from new has a bad wollow going through sweepers, at speed limits ,some times faster sometimes a bit under the speed limit , it gives me the shits!!  feels like its coming from the swing arm pivot, l dont know, ive tried differant shocks and settings, but if its coming from the swing arm changing shocks that wont help, l want to go as fast as l want to , not slower than the woman next to me in an echo, front shocks are great never clunked or an issue from them, besides an expensive  true trak whats the answer??????????

Hey Darkash69, o.k. had a chance today to get the bike onto the scissor ramp, checked the front and rear mounts as well as the top engine mount,& swing arm pivot nut, spokes as well, all are tight and l can see no cracks or other damage to the mounts, but l dont know what l should be looking for? can you tell me what the issue with the older origanal front mount was?? is it something visible ? some issue with rubber quality?....

Swapping out the stock shocks to something with a progressive spring rate and adjustable dampening will help, even if there is a problem elsewhere. I ran with the stock garbage for one and a half years, now I am running the Ikons and it is a much much better handling bike.

I farked up after I first fitted them and had the preload on a different setting on each side. What a goose aye ? The bike handled exactly like you describe. Very obvious thing but double check and make sure they are the at the same preload setting.

been complaining about that problem for a while... so what has happened/changed

    • loose spokes... current service guy recons dealer has never checked them
    • replaced front engine mount (under warranty)
    • loose engine stabilisation mount.... looking at bolt it has been without a nut for a least half the kilometres (i.e 50% of thread is worn away)... thats 2 services
    • fitted True-Track

It is now a totally different bike to ride. The only thing I may yet do is place spaces on the front engine mount as per a thread on V-Twin

well l tried progressive shocks , fitted them about 5K ago, tried a lot of settings, hasnt helped, l reckon the ride is a bit harsher than the stock ones, Yes ikons ! my mate with the dodgy back swears by em,& sure corners those sweepers at a stable & much faster speed on his 08 sportster than my bike can handle, OK Now ! NEXT!.. ill try that front engine mount shiming, if l remove the bolts and it does lift a little ill shim the space try that, oh yer l fitted a sceamin eagle front fork brace, dont bother no help there either, l dont want to just purchase a new engine mount hoping that will do it,, then ,,well maybe a trutrak..

Progressives sure are a bit harsher than the marshmellows they fit at the factory. Yeah, with the bigass forks on the dynas the fork brace wouldn't be worth it. A freind of mine, (minethog ) had handling issues with the same model as yours. He's a member of the forums but I don't think he gets online much, so you could try PMing him.
