Would anyone be keen to head out on the Saturday? Head down Mt Lindsay hwy from Beaudesert to Rathdowney to watch a few waves start, and then take Summerland Way into Kyogle proper for the bikes and vendors in the main st? 

 

I hope to head down to this but haven't made any plans yet.

might be up for this too, better ride to Rathdowny is via Beaudesert. From Canungra you head thru Boyland, nice ride and done it many times.

have you looked at any overnight accommodation, would be great to party on down there. Doesn't need to be flash just a safe place to park our bikes.

There was a tent town that was professionally run and patrolled by security I believe, but I think they only had full 4 day packages. I'll suss out some one night deals

Hey guys ... seems things down Kyogle way , Lions TT are starting to come apart at the seams .

I`ve got my fingers crossed they can still pull it off because I reckon the original idea is a beauty ... seems the lovely Qld Anti Fun Police at very last minute of course have refused to give permission to shut down both way traffic on the Qld side of the boarder ... which now means what was going to be a 40 K trip over the Lions road has been reduced to a 17 k trip with the knowledge of no oncoming traffic ... and you can bet your last Dollar there will be shit loads of coppers there to make sure they abide by their draconian rules .

To make matters worse it seems the N.S.W. police who didn`t want to be left out of the Anti Fun behaviour have refused permission for the 1 / 8 side by side timed street races that were going to be held in the town of Kyogle .

The organisers have had to hire the Casino Aerodrome , some 60 K`s further south being a private property to run those particular events ... only problem with that is they are still not allowed to be side by side timed races ... so not sure why one would even bother .

Camping in the Tent City , well not sure about you guys but they seem to be rather inflated prices if you ask me ... IF you can book one they have tents set up for $295 , to be fair I am not sure if this is per night or for the entire event ... a site only for you to bring your own gear was $88 I think , and as above not sure if per night or entire event .

Supposed to be about 10 bands booked ... tried to find a list of vendors and could only find about a dozen or so .

Believe me I am not trying to knock the event down as I AM GOING myself because one never knows how some of these things can transpire at the last minute and for me riding down from the Logan area , well it`s a good excuse for a ride ... I`m heading down via Beaudesert ... Rathdowney ... Mt.Lindsey range , pretty tight in some areas ... Down the Summerland Way ... down into Kyogle ... check out the Vendors wares and if no good then do the loop back up to Brisbane via ... Uki ... Mululembar , { Shit spelling I know } ... over the ranges in behind Currumbin and back up home .

Just in case anyone wondering where I got my info from , I subscribed to their news letter and this comes from the organisers them selves ... Like I said hopefully they can sort some things out and make it better next year ... here`s hoping for some fine weather at least .

The tent city is 280 I think, but it's a flat rate for 4 nights. If you only want 1 or 2 nights, it's still $280.
I'd love to party on into the evening, but unfortunately I'll just be doing the Saturday 4th now. I actually emailed a couple of the local hotels as recommended by the website. Zero response.
Same deal as you, Kyogle via Rathdowney and the range, sus out the show and then home via Uki - Murwillumbah.

Just checked out the TT web site, what a shame.  

In retrospect it may have been better holding the whole shebang at the Areodrome.  The Caravan park that is part of it is masive with great facilities for mass gatherings.

Yeah a bit of a bummer but with any luck and if the organisers are genuine then maybe they can get a jump start for next year .

I thought that Tent city price was a bit rich ... even for 4 nights a bit up there considering no power and so on , oh well will be a nice day for a ride if the weather gods are smiling down on us ... most likely stop at the Rathdowney Pub ... don`t think it will be open though but should be a fair few bikes mulling around .

Just keep an eye out for those party poopers , the boys in blue , Lol .

Some great roads down Dorrigo and Bellingen way ... Grafton to Casino can be a bit so so but anything is better than the highway .

Most likely leaving the Logan area about 7 am on the Saturday, there is a nice little Rod and Bike show up Logan way on the Sunday , so just a day ride for me ... might beat you down there but not definitely , I`m a slow old bugger these days , Lol ... If you see my bike down there anywhere guys and see a big old fat bastard standing close by say hi ... other wise hope you all have a great day .

One last bump. Ill be at the zaraffas at 8:30am, hopefully not flying solo!
