    2007 Sportster.

Thinking about replacing my standard speedo with the Combination Speedometer/Analog Tachometer (Product 70900274) and Fuel Sensor Kit, to give me digital speedo, fueld level. miles to empty, gear position and time.

Anyone fitted these to their Sporty ?

Any problems or issues with acuuracy of fuel level in particular ?

    Appreciate any feedback.

    Cheers

I'm not sure if you will get gear indicator function to work on an 07 model sportster. From memory it only works with the 2008 and later models.

as for the fuel level indicator I believe there have been some accuracy problems with them. But  this isn't first hand experience. Just what I have read

I've got one on my 2013 Sporty and I can tell you that there are issues with fuel accuracy. At times the meter will show 3/4 or 1/2 and then go to reserve warning - just like that. It also does not give a clear indication of actual fuel level, my tank will almost be empty and the meter will still show 1/2. Taking it to HH next week to check it out.

    Cheers guys.

You have both confirmed what I had been told. Pity, they look good !!

Might wait until the 2015 catalogue comes out and see if there an upgrade to this kit.

Hope you get the fuel level sorted Stel.

    Thanks again.

Apart from the fuel readout issue, what do people who have this installed on their bikes think of it? Is it worth the money? Also, after installing this speedo/tacho, your fuel gauge that is part of the right hand grip instrument cluster would still work as normal wouldn't it?

Will be interested in comments from those who have one Boggsy, but I don't see the point given the shortcomings.

My main interest was in the fuel guage and the gear indicator, being a relatively new rider.

If the fuel guage is inaccurate, and the gear indicator not available on my 07 Sporty, I would be paying $700+ for nice looking analogue speedo with a clock. They do look bloody good but I can't justify that.

My Harley dealer tells me there may ne an upgrade in the 2015 catalogue due around Christmas.

    Cheers

I like the look of them, and want a tacho, also my speedo on my bike which is a 2012 model has moisture behind the screen, and when you go for a ride it usually covers up up the bottom part, so you can't read the trip meter very well. It's bloody annoying. I priced one 6 months ago down at the local harley dealer and I'm sure it was only around the $370 mark. Might go back and enquire again if an improved 2015 version is going to be released.

I have one on my 72 the fuel accuracy isnt to bad, it has to be set up correctly with the tank size input when installing.
u can change the colour of the background and needle to just about any colour which is cool at night
It is good having the digital speedo for quick speed checks
My opinion of course but i think it was worth it

    Thanks for your responses guys.

I am also (now) looking at the Dakota Digital MCL-3204 as an option. I prefer the blue with black bevel.

Nice clean look, really cool, and installation is a direct plug-in using the existing/original speedo housing, and function setup looks pretty easy (but doesn't it always until you try it).

On my 2007 Sporty this would give me gear position indicator but not fuel level, oh well can't have everything.

    $400 all up.

Anyone with any experience with this unit ?

    Cheers
