I just got back from a 2000km bike ride on my Heritage Classic 2010 and every thing worked great. But yesterday my misses cleaned the bike and now the accy fuse keeps blowing as soon as I turn it on. Which means no indicators, brake light or Horn.

So far I have run the bike so it would get hot enough to dry out any water.

I have checked all the lights for signs of water and none

I have disconnected the horn and it still blew

I have diconnected the rear wiring harness and it still blew

Any ideas would be great ?

 

Get the missus to find it as she broke it! ha. After reading your post it still sounds like a dead short in one of the plugs, wires or switches due to water ingress. If washing is the only thing that has happened. No seats/bars/parts taken off i mean. Curly one hey! Could a wire have worn through due to your trip, and only chooses to show up now?

Look in any plugs, in and around the fuse box etc. Tap and shake shit, looking for drips.

I would put a test light across where the fuse is and start wriggling the wiring for a start.

After blowing ten replacement fuses I give up. Tomorrow its off to Peter Stevens Harley Haven Adelaide, after all its still under warranty.

 

All fixed now it turned out to be a live wire in the headlight shorting.

What was the cause though?
