    Thats "FUCKIN " scary !!!!!!!!!!!

Just experienced the" WOBBLE " that people talk about on the pre 09 tourers.

I have an 08 Roadking , never ever had a problem, but last night took a quick bolt after work on a very familiar road (Albury to Tallangatta)  on the way back took the same fast long right hand sweeper at approx 130.....ish (which ive done about 100 times before) and almost SHIT, around 3/4 thru the bike had a massive fit which almost felt like a rear steer cat loader.

So now i am a beleiver in the "WOBBLE" and dont ever want to feel it again.

Checked tyre pressures-engine mounts ..all good.

Started reading up on it as soon as i got home...... (after 3 bourbons). Seems like theres a heap to pick from.

Any one had any experience with stabilisers ?

    Cheers.

Know how you feel, few years back at sydney drags i got to 160kph & well before speed traps my dyna got a death wobble, i opened throtle full got worse almost threw me so backed off no improvement, so opened her up wide & used rear brake at same time improved so kept rear brake on and slowly backed off till it stopped ( fuck it was bad ) tried tyre pressure change checked her over. went out again same thing so went home, later found broken studs on rear engine mount. this was a 01 dyna not same as what u have still rubber mounts. never ever had those problems with old ridgid mounted motors so check your mounts again & the stabilizer

    good luck

front fork springs way too soft & damper oil  also check rear tyre could be squaring off from toooo much touring straight , lean her over a hit ta throttle that will wear the tyre for corners

    Cheers,
Might re-check those mounts , must have been something that's just changed , cause I ride around nice NE/VICTORIA (as in snow country) roads every time I ride ,so definetly not my rear tyre squared off.

    Hi Coz
My 07 King was the same, every thing ok to a point then all hell breaks loose!! Like Rodeo ridin a bull!!!
I went the Progressive system, a brace for the rear mount and springs for the forks with Screamin Eagle oil . Probley should get the shocks too, but,,,,,$$$$$ Did make a big differance, but i don't have the confidence in it, especialy on rougher sweepers, if you hit a pot hole half way round it shakes its head violently. But hay, every thing has its limits, an its a huge bit of steel held together by bits of rubber, gotta have flex. Riding the back brake does help pull the whole shebang straight.
    Hope That helps a little.
By the way the new frames although better still have flex issues. May be the should have put the B motors in every thing, an piss the rubber mounts off.

I chased the wobble for a few years on my 07 bagger and got it very good compared to stock with progressive heavy fork springs preloaded at 1 1/2 inches with a 15 weight castrol fork oil. I also fitted progressive 416 air shocks with the progressive stabilizer brace. I also spent a few days setting up the wheels both vertical as well as horizontal to get the best from the frame and the piss poor tripple tree's and swingarm. My bike handles great with these mods but where only putting lip stick on a pig.

Mate of mine had an off on a road king because of the wobble. We were only talking true trac the day before. But it was too late. Unlucky to have come off but lucky to have lived. Still recovering and it was months ago. Best $500 plus fitting you can spend on a rubber mount harleys even the newer ones.
