Hello, I am thinking of upgrading my bike to include Vance and Hines dresser duals ( I already have Street Cannon slip ons), but I'm worried about whether it will be too loud and attract unwanted police attention. Anyone running this combo have issues with the law?
Hi Clacker
The valve is closed at lower revs( around town) to quieten the exhaust a little (still has a hole in the middle), think of a choke in a carby.
Then it opens up at higher revs or speed so that the motor can breath at highwy speed, thats the theory any way, yes fixing it open is one of the first things done, still be a no no in the eyes of the law. Just as fitting any after market product if taken to the letter of the law, bla bla bla.
After I removed the V&H straight pipes (virtualy drag pipes), I had a muffler shop convert my standard system into a two into one and eliminated the valve alltogether. I was happy with that.
I was impressed with the slide show of the improvements you made. How do you do the ""photobucket" thing? Cheers Dug
G'day DUGE,
Thanks for the compliment on my improvements.
Using photobucket is easy - all you need to do is type in photobucket into your search engine to navigte to the site. Once there all you need to do is register.
Once registered you can upload pics to your account. Once uploaded there is a script you cut and paste from the appropriate source (the instructions on the site will explain how) and paste this into the site you want the slide show to go.
The site has good instructions so I won't reinvent the wheel by trying to explain further...
I went Power Duals for the X pipe . Meant to have more down low ? Love it , not too loud .
