    hi,

what you reckon of my front cyl spark advance?

couple of little dips, but linear in general

    thanks

with the autotune find a backroad that is relatively flat and long.

start in first gear, slowly ramp up through the throttle range, holding each increment for approx 3 seconds till rev cut, then slowly back down doing the opposite

go through the gears and repeat the process

you will then need to do some gradient pulls to get the lower rpm wide open throttle stuff.

there will always be cells you cant hit, like the 6000rpm 5% TPS etc. I had more success doing it methodically then just riding about normally.

But you are right, having a dyno and load control would make it a walk in the park.

"But you are right, having a dyno and load control would make it a walk in the park. " If one has a dyno and load control there is no need for auto tune. :-)

Lucifer, I have chimed in on the engine temp issue. I auto tuned yesterday from Perth to Mandurah ( approx 90K) and my engine temp in the logged data reached 258 deg F. my tech tells me this is too high - engine damage etc. Others tell me this is ok. Can someone else give me the lowdown on acceptable engine temps for a twin cam please ? I am up in compression and my Cruuise AFRs are around 14.6.

258 F is just fine for a Twin Cam engine. Typical running temperatures are in the 280 F range in higher weather conditions. HD doesn't consider the engine Hot until 320 F

Lucifer, what is the speedo calibration on the stock tune compared to the Fuel moto map? I might revert it back to stock setting in this regard as I'm dangerously low on demerit points lol.

    thanks I'll plug it in.

Mine is 2274, so from my understanding that means my speedo reads higher then what my actual speed is. Fine by me I suppose, just means I put slightly more KM's on it.

    Hi,

Yeah it whacks the VE at low rpm (leans it out), increase your VE (about 5%) in those area to richen up to help knock before you start reducing spark advance, check spark plug gap as well as could just be an issue there

I found this site very good reading of an evening with a coffee and a couple of scotch finger biscuits:

    Megamanual.com

For cars but its all the same stuff

    Thanks
