It was around 1982 and all the bike rags on the planet were raving about the new GSX 1100's from Suzuki. I had to have one. What a rubber-banded pos. at 140 I was doing the breast stroke down the road.   It was the last jap road bike I ever owned. To this day I take all I read in bike rags with a great deal of suspicion.

I had a 1976 900ss Ducati for 8 yrs, I should nominate that but when it ran well, it really ran well.

1974 - XT Falcon, my first car. Rusted on me but now a collectors item.
1975 - Yamaha XS 650, a dildo of a wobbler that almost cost my life twice but now a collectors item.
1976 - HQ Monaro GTS, another one that rusted on me, sold it in '91 for peanuts. Wreckers brought it for the donk and crushed the body, now a collectors item.
These are just the wheels that were shit. Had plenty of others that were not. The biggest piece of shit I brought without wheels was my first computer, now a well known brand.

My first car was a lemon, 82 XE falcon. Everything went on that POS

Most fun Car I had was a 72 RX2 with a fair amount of $$$ in the engine and suspension.

Most reliable car I had was a 96 Mitsubishi mirage. I did 60,000km over 6 years, never serviced it, replaced two front tyres it was a station car

    EDIT

    Bikes...........

I had a 2008 Ducati Hypermotard. The most fun to ride buit a prick to own, temperamentle, expensive, unreliable.

2007 DR650 Suzuki. Several bits fell off, massive oil leak, broken cam chain, ate front brake pads like a fat kid eats doughnuts. Sidestand bent under the bike's weight and gouged the swingarm. The most uncomfortable seat in motorcycle history resulting in pain after about 4kms.

Couldn't wait to see the arse end of it.

ducati 500 parallel twin in the  late 70s. It was the worst ducati ever built because as it turned out it wasnt even a real ducati apparently. Try and find any reference about them on the internet and its like they never  existed. truly a shocker.

1986 Ford Telstar TX5. Unequivocally the biggest piece of shite I've ever owned. Bought it with 10 months rego in '98, no mechanic in the land would roadworthy it for a second dig. Traded it in for $1000 sight unseen by the dealer for a VL commodore. The look on his face when I nursed it in to the yard was priceless, but the papers were signed and he was stuck with it. A win for the people.

I had a 1990 Volkswagen Jetta that was a nightmare. I was under that car more than I was in it. I have had good luck with bikes can't say I've had a lemon.

My first Harley a 1981 Harley Roadster. Built by AMF. Stands for Adios Mutha Fucka. Peice of shit would just stop for no reason and go when it felt like it. Spat the alternator off coming back from Purga creek and nearly killed my mate behind me.  Only way off it was to trade it on a new 1984 Lowrider. Which is still my favourite bike. I regrett ever selliin that
