Sitting back having a quiet drink with the Mrs, discussing the usual, house kids etc.

Our eldest is getting Married at home in January so as often does the conversation drifted that way. After a while discussing Costs, what we need to do, Costs, when we need to have things ready, Costs, Who's coming and did I mention costs the Mrs out of the blue says:

"Also can you organise a few weeks Holidays for early Feb as I reckon we should just throw some gear on the bike, look at the sky, pick a direction and go" 

After 28 years of marriage sometimes she can still surprise me.

So put my holiday form in this morning, no plans just follow the road and weather. Can't fucking wait.

Like you i'm a lucky one Gold , , i won't go into a big rant , but i've been on some medication for a heart condition had a by pass 16 months ago ,quit work 10 months ago , for a while been feeling shit and tired all the time , got to the stage , i would'nt go out the house , would'nt even get dressed , just laze around doing fack all, s missis even had to nag me to get a shower, about 5- 7 MONTHS ago developed a lot of pain in the legs , Went to the docs he said it could be but probably was'nt, some medication i was taking ,said i can't stop it because of the heart , prescribed me with some more medication for depresion , , Anyway i'm taking this lot .Then 10 days ago , i got up said to the wife , FACK IT , WHAT she said ,, I said you heard me FACK IT , i said they reckon the pain is caused by the tablets , (lipitor ) so they can stick em up there arse ,, and threw them in the bin ,

I then took the depresion tablets , and said to her , and these facking things are going with them , I threw them in the bin , she said you need them , thr doctor said ,, I said the doctor can fuck off , what i need to do is get a shower , get on the bike and get out the fucking house , So off i go spent a few days on a couple of big rides , and what do you know ,, Fucking pain starts to go , i'm getting back to my normal self , And today we went to see a new doctor , he asked whats going on , I told him , he said good , them lipitor can cuase chronc pain ,chronic fatigue and lethargy in 5% of people , give it a few weeks to get out the system 100% AND WE WILL TRY SOMETHING ELSE .

He then says what about the depresion , I said my take on it was i 've been so fuckiung bored sat in the house in pain that its been depresing me and the tablets made it worse , so i aint facking taking them . What now he said , I said i'm cured , the pain is subsiding , i polished my bikes , i'm out riding everyday , and i'm not bored , so its all good ,,
Doc says i'm a lucky one that i can reconize the problems and do something about it ,,

Now the part, what you got to luv , is the missis said to me , its good to see you getting back to normal , lets go for a long ride for a couple of weeks ,, and tell you what she said , why don't you buy that roadking or heritage to do it on ,, , I look and go WHAAAT ,, fuck it she says , if your back to normal you may has well get that new bike you wanted . .

Sorry for the rant but some of us are just lucky enough to catch the good one , and personaly i feel proud of myself cos i felt myself slipping away , and had the strenght to say FUCK IT its not gonna GET ME .

Glad you are feeling better, hear all the time that ya health can have as much to do with attitude as anything else.
Now mine hasn't quite gone far enough to let me get a new bike but she did mention something about an airhawke for her seat.
