the story goes.. wife and i heading to USA to tour for a month or so and buying her a bike. the plan is to buy a conversion van and trailer to tow the bike around as theres no way we could do a month on a bike (she has a black belt in shopping, and cant travel light)
a conversion van is a large american van fitted out for family touring, a semi camper with touring luxuries
the rear seat folds down into a double bed and they have tv, communications and curtains
you can pick up a tidy 1990s unit for about 3 grand (you get a lot for your money) which if you think about it, you could easy spend $100 a night on accomodation and over a month thats 3K.
anyway when we hit LA we will bring the bike home but the van and trailer will have to be desposed of. dont think i could be bothered with a rolling ebay sale, so thought i might give it to some homless chump in exchange for dropping us at the airport.
then thought maybe someone from home might like to get a van and trailer cheap if they are doing a bike buying run to the USA.
by the time we hit LA the van will have proved itself reliabe, or cost us a few repairs.
either way its a good vehicle for towing and sleeping in.
realise its a long way off, but it gives you a chance to think about it.
will be late August approx
probably a dyna wide, maybe a breakput. but its still a way off yet. theres a saying about women and changing minds
yeah cheers mate. i just use temp tags. good for a month or 2 no drama, will loom into a tag along, i have no idea what that is lol
Cheers...
is it ok to tow a harley like that long distance ?
