    I love my 18v cordless impact gear.  Gasless welding is shit.  You can buy disposable gas bottles, no rental smiley

    I see and hear a lot of people saying gasless mig is crap. Personally i thought the same when i was using cig gasless wire i couldn't figure out what was going on with inconsistent welds .
    Then by chance i tried a different brand that was flux cored and never had any issues it was great.

    Bugger buying disposable bottles.

    Bunnings want something like $40 and they say lasts 20 mins.

    I like my ratcheting spanners. Good for my man sized hands in hard to reach places.

    A good solid bench and a vice is also a must.

    Find yourself some old bbq with wheels rip out the plate,burners,knobs anything to lighten it up replace the top with a bit of MDF and you end up with a top mobile workbench/mobile bar for refreshments after ya knock off and if you add a multi power point  you can run tools also.And the tray under it is a top spot for tools in a box/ esky or get some angle iron  and build draws ect.You could even cut a slot for a circular saw this is is one of my most usefull tools  I realy love due to lack of space,lighting and shade.

    I have a bunnings work bench that looks like it is just pallet racking and made up some extra bracing with pieces of rod so its as solid as, definitely agree with Vice recommendations, one tool I used which I think straight away I could no longer live without is a big corded drill, after killing countless cordless drills, I bought a 750watt Makita and it is brilliant, like most good things it's probably overkill but geeze its fun to use.
    Anyone here have a drill press ? if so does it get much use ?

    The one machine I would really love is a mill/drill. Pretty much got everything else.

    Possibly the two cheapest things you need are;

    Duct tape if things are loose and shouldn't be and WD 40 for things that aren't loose, but should be...
