Well I have finally ordered a bike.  08 Fatboy in black.  Now time to spend more money.  As you may rember from my initial thread, I want to change the wheels to spokes.  The guys at Peter Stevens weren't sure about it because the '08 bikes have different hubs than the '07 and are not sure that they can get wheels for it yet.  I called Hyperformance and asked, apparently it's no problem and they would be able to help.

Anyway, two - three week wait. Am looking forward to it.

As the 07 hubs changed on the 08 bikes dealer has been a bit vague on what they could do for me.  I don't want to go down to a 16" wheel and staying at 17" or going to 18" means aftermarket. I rang a couple of other bike shops and they say no problem.  As soon as I get the bike I will be paying them a visit.

Just called Peter Stevens and they do not order any of their Fat Boys with laced wheels.  i would have to wait and for a January build bike from the states and probably won't see it until March08.  Did the bike at Seaside M/cycles have 17 or 16" wheels?  The HD website only lists 16" laced wheels for the softails as an option.  I was probably looking at getting 18s now anyway.

I'll keep hunting.

Update:  Bike arrived at PS on Friday 30 Nov.  Will not be looked at until next week which means delivery on 12 Dec.  I have decided to leave the bike totally stock for now for running in and while I decided what engine management to use.  Bit dissapointed in the wait time, but does give me more time to plan and research the mods.
