What's YOUR thoughts on localised monthly workshops / workparties?

Discussion was brought up on another thread (thanks Scotty & JD), that some people organise monthly work parties / work shops.

E.g. we could have a bit of group get together locally, can share tools, get tips, share knowledge and mod the bikes.
Or create a group / pool of skills and then focus a weekend or a day a month on a particular bike within the group and get the work done.

Radical but bloody great idea if you ask me (ps. the only skills I bring to the table are the 24 cans of beer)

Well we've got a good 4 sydneysiders from this forum already.
Then I have about another 8 Hd'er offsite that are into it.

Also have a mate that brings in good cheap knock-off gear from Thailand - for example he's got 30 of those LED lights kits - whole think supplied & fitted $80.00

hey Rod, no mate, but I've seen em' in the flesh plenty of times. Kind of little bar's of LEDS, bout' 1.5cm's x 8 cms.
Quite bright, look really good, I imagine you can break em up individually a bit more.

Fit em' where you want, we install little toggle swith under edge of seat, total install time about 40 mins.

OK so they are bling ? lights, read a thread on the US XL site about a bloke who fitted some very bright single LED's as auxliery day lights, they turned out pretty nice.

Got plenty of tools and a bit of know how but mainly on shovelheads so may differ a bit to you blokes but keen on the beers and chat while you blokes work on the shovel...
