Looking for an overnight ride with the wife. Destination couple of hours from Townsville. North, South, West

Not really about the ride. Just want to get away with the Missus and spend a night at pub style accom that is trusted with parking for the pride and joy.

    Regards Russ

Forrest beach? Ingham area, looks OK so far.

Used to be the Peeramon pub in the tablelands was a good spot, had Coopers on tap and a vintage Indian above the bar. Couldn't find it online, don't know if it's still going...

So, Forrest beach - booked out for a wedding.

Hidden Valley Cabins. Good ride to get there, bit pricey as all the cheap cabins are taken.

Ravenswood. Looks like the go. Mingla pub for a mid way stop.

Let you know how it goes.

    Regards Russ

So went to Ravenswood last night. Got there about 4.30 few rums on the way at the Mingla Pub. Great feed of Roast n Vegies. Awsome company with the publican, most of his family were also there last night. Stayed at the Railway hotel. $80 for a room for the night. Parked bike out back for piece of mind, Not that you need it out there but they were more than accomodating. Went for a stroll up to the Mine (gold Mine) for a look and then scooted home this morning. Nice and short trip to keep the misus happy and well worth the effort.

For the single blokes there was a pair of sweedish backpackers behind the bar that were 'pleasing to the eye'

Recommend the Railway Pub in Ravenswood for a Saturday night getaway.
