    Hi everyone,

Just hooked up my Screaming eagle tuner to my laptop for the first time. When I turn on the ignition I get the following.

Super Tuner has determined that a new version of the VCI software is available.  Please reprogram your VCI with the latest update. You must update your VCI before continuing.

It wont let me do anything else unless I click on ok. My fear is that if I do so it will alter settings or tuning. I have the 120r in the bike and it has different setting to the 103. I was told it was Dyno tuned at the dealer. Not sure if they did or I got an expensive download. From what I can see the file in there has my name on it.

    Please help.

    Hi Dutchy,

This process is a standard procedure. You can update your VCI without changing any settings and most importantly your tune. You wont reload a tune unless you tell it to in the reflash area. You can save the tune that is your VCI before you go any further so incase you do something wrong it will always be there for you to reload.

With your tune having your name on it ??????? Download maps can be renamed in 10 seconds!!!!!  Custom maps take hours.

    Cheers Brian.

Brian I have since had a little play around. Was shitting myself though. Anyway what I have discovered is that the tune in my bike is identical to the down load. All the numbers and shading are the same as the download. So what I am asuming is that they only put it on the dyno to make sure it was not too far out and to give me a graph. I do feel misslead. But I guess not much I can do about it.

That particular dealership has a bit to answer for as far as tuning goes me thinks...

Maybe. Don't know enough to really point the finger. Not worth it any way. But I know if I was to get another bike I would buy the Tuner from Lushy and have him tune it too.
