Advice on Sportster

    Hello

This has probably been addressed before, but here we go antway.

I was a sports bike rider but at 55, no longer want to stop on a dime, use knee sliders, fall off and so on.

So, was considering a sportster. I have seen a 1997 1200 that seems to be in very nice standard condition (apart from loud exhaust).

    Any advice?

What is it worth, as I may re-sell after a year if I don't get on with it?

    Kind Regards

    Frank

    Thanks for the info.

I rode the bike today. Plenty of low speed torque, no point in revving it.

Stops OK (as good as a car, so not dangerous)

Not confidence insiping around bumpy bends (so cars will catch up).

Makes people smile (unlike a Yamaha).

Any ideas what I should pay (in NZ)? 40,000Km, no service records.
