    So it's a protest of the Qld laws but held at the federal parliament in Canberra?

    Well they certainly aren't gonna be federal laws. The only thing federal about it is IF there is a challenge on constitutional grounds. It's a state/territory issue and none of the other states/territories have followed QLD with anything similar at all despite almost a year lapsing. Victoria and the ACT have human rights legislation which wouldn't enable such legislation anyway.

    Sorry but its ridiculous to ride to Canberra and protest at Parliament House about these laws. Doesn't make any sense at all.

    Maybe its part of a co-ordinated bunch of protests ending at various Parliaments. I notice on some of the UMC and FREE Party facebook pages there were simultaneous protest rides on parliament and govt offices last week in Adelaide and Brisbane. The State or Federal Parliaments themselves may be playing no direct role in the legislation under attack but the media stories generated by the coordinated arrivals do get the message out there into lounge rooms that the objections to it are national....better to do something, than nothing.
