Let me get this right, I pay $67.10 each year for a Motorcycle Safety Levy, which apparently gives me

    1. Education. (If I want further education on riding it’s a cost to me, as far as I know it’s not subsidized by the Govt.)

    2. Engineering, technology and Intelligent Transport Systems. (Really so why do we still have wire cables on some of our Highways/Freeways)

    3. Enforcement. (Don’t Go between stationary cars to the front of the queue, we’ll book you)

    4. Enhanced information for decision making. (We’ll lower all the speed limits so that Motorcyclists, Cage drivers can’t hurt themselves)

Apparently since 2002 Over 200 Levy Projects have been approved. (And yet cars still cut me off and can’t see me)

Honestly why are the Motorcyclists paying the Levy, Most accidents are caused by the cage drivers, yet they don’t attribute any funds to the Levy.

I'm always amazed by the signs that say they've upgraded a road or corner for motorcycle safety. A lot of these roads I ride a lot and the changes seem to be just general maintenance (potholes and shit) so it's pretty obvious the money we give is being spent on these signs.

Right now I'm confused.Again. I'm just about to pay my reg for the XR1200 and it doesn't have that charge.

    TOTAL AMOUNT**  $566.60

** No charge for motorcycle safety initatives

Am I not being charged this because I have two bikes registerd or have they dropped the charge completely. But I do agree it's another bollox charge from the state run by a dentist. Living here is getting as painful as having teeth pulled.

I thought the levy was to be dropped. You only had to pay the levy on one bike registered in your name, but they add the levy to every rego notice.
