Have the money ready for a new 48 after selling my Buell. When I go to buy want to have the decision made about what  I want the air cleaner and pipes to be . Have decided that I want an oval shaped filter - SE do some nice ones - will go with one of those. Main problem I am having is deciding on a set of slip ons. I loved the sound of the microns I had on the Buell so have been scouring youtube clips listening to as many 48's as I can - hard to tell like that....I really am after something that looks like the US pipes - have always loved the baloney cut look, but has some good sound as well as performance. Internet searches are sending me batty - I found some pics for a Sonic slip on that has a baloney cut but can't find any info - are there any other pipes I should be looking at?? Last resort would be some SE or Vand H slip ons [straight shot style] but have my heart set on the baloney. Also all parts will be fitted at dealer prior to delivery so unsure if that makes a difference to what I can order.

I've just ordered a new 48, having it delivered late Sept... One thing worth thinking about is that if you wait a few more weeks, they are able to register the bikes as 2015 so will hold more value for resale.

I've ordered mine with a heavy breather and V&H slip ons, black slash cut... They didn't seem to want to talk much about any other brand than V&H & SE... Must be some kind of deal they have going on. Would be interested to see how you get on though so post up when you've made your deal with them...

Thanks for the info Picker. What colour did you end up going with? I really loved the past orange colour but would assume you can't get an old colour in a new model?
Did you already make a choice about what pipe style you wanted or did the dealer have info available to look at prior?

I've gone with Black tentatively... Will be popping into the dealer on Sept 1 when he has assured me he will have the new colour options available on his computer and I can make a final decision.
I was concerned that the graphics etc may change as I don't mind the current 'FORTY EIGHT' on the tank but hated the previous 'Sportster' graphic if you know what I mean?
I'm hoping that this year they have a new one which is better than the previous two as the iron graphic is pretty awesome.

I went in and initially ordered it with the V&H slash cut short shots (as I like the way they look), but having seen the amount of shit people get on here for the noise of them & how many people have them, I decided slip ons would be the way to go so it's less of an ordeal if I have to do a noise test.

Are you doing anything else to yours? Or just the pipes and breather for now? I gave the dealer a bit of a laundry list... Pipes, filter, tuner, bars, seat, springs etc...

Picker - just getting the basic stage one stuff for now, the other things I can think about as time goes by.
So are you ordering a 2015 model that you get to choose the new colours?

Jayman6 - you are a legend - the Rush and Khromeworks slip ons look the goods - did you buy one of those brands? - would you recommend? Dealer I went to was M and W as they are closest to me - they didn't really push any products, I was asking some Q as I hadn't decided what pipes to consider.

M & W in Brisbane? Just speak to Luke. He'll sort you out, a good bloke. I contemplated the Rush's, but went with a 2-1 system in the end. My original intention to buy a sportster evolved into a fatbob.
