Has anyone used SuperTrapp tapered slip-ons part No 628-78088 or similar ?

I bought the S&S tapered slip-ons part No 106-5770 for my stock 103 Street Bob but i would prefer something a little quieter.

It's mainly at idle and at 50 to 60 kph that it's noticeable , once it's doing 70-80 kph it doesn’t seem so bad.

The only other mods i have are an after-market air cleaner and TTS , the exhaust valve settings in the tune are stock (well what was in the DHA358-01 cal).

Would it be worth changing to the SuperTrapp from the S&S tapered slip-ons ?

    Thanks

    Arron

Arent they the ones with the adjustable disks? Just remove some disks and that will quieten them down heaps.

I run mine with 10 disks and an open end cone and they sound friggin awesome!

Yes thats the one , i did a quick search on the US HD forum and didn't find that much.

This was the picture of them that is on the M&M site , will have to place an order when i have the spare cash and see how they sound.

Mate...you have a set of the most tunable pipes that money can buy.... Read the manual as its only a matter of minutes to add/remove disks and so alter both the power curve AND the noise level!

The way I read it, the OP has S&S Slip-ons and is considering the Supertrapps to replace them?

Ahhh...your correct. In that case my advise is to go with the Supertrapps! You will love the tunability!

Thanks tussuck , Jayman6 , kiwidave and Hilly.

Will have a look at getting them from http://www.griffinspares.com.au/default.aspx when i have the spare cash , probably a couple of weeks to a month away.

The S&S mufflers are well made just a little too loud for me , have only ridden to work with them on three times and the neighbours may not appreciate the Harley

rumble at 6am if it's turned up too loud.
