Hi all. I purchased this off a guy that bought it just for the engine ( Yamaha XS650 ). I am wondering if anyone can help me with the VIN. I have a feeling the steering neck and part of the frame is HD. The neck is 195mm long/deep, where XS is either 170 or 188mm. The VIN does'nt correspond with any of the HD VIN codes that I can find. VIN is 5L9T27000M1MZ6007. Any help would be appreciated.

What makes you think it's a HD, I can tell you it's Circa 1991, probably a Yamaha.

Hi allde. Just a guess really. The frame has been hacked a bit and I think that the neck back to the seat and 2/3rd of the way down the front are not from the original bike. Obviously the rest of the frame is, be it modified. The front wheel/disk is original with katana forks and HD handlebars.
