Scared myself today

A mate of mine has a fireblade for sale as he just bought a Bimota. He offered me a ride while he still had both bikes.

I used to ride gixxers and zxr 750's back in the 80's, and other than a buell haven't ridden a sports bike in a while.

We hit the mountains and holy crap these things go like stink. The power to weight ratio is unbeliveable and the breaks detatched my retnas.

After an hour and a half my wrists and neck were killing me, and it drove the point home how comfy my harley is. Great fun though.

Glad I don't own one cause I'd get myself into some serious trouble anyway.

I'll stick with the superglide I think.

    Boof,

That looks like a pretty awsome machine. A while back I rode a mate's Yamaha fz1 750, it was an 85 bike but it when like the clappers. Crotch rockets are good fun but after about an hour on them you start to appreciate the comfort and character of the Harley.

That's it chop-chop. My wrists are stil feeling it.

It's very hard to ride anywhere near the speed limit too. They go so friggin hard. Back in the day the local plod new me and would pull me over on sight. THose guys are all gone now and I generally behave myself, but with a bike like this the temptation to nail it is just too much.

Yep, I'm kinda glad I got into bikes older in life because in my 20's I was quite a hoon myself but in cars. I rekon if I'd had a bike like that back then I'd either be a contender for Moto GP champion (yeah right) or dead.

What you gain in speed you lose in comfort on these bikes. I can't last half an hour on a Jap bike there too bloody small for me.
The Suzuki Hayabusha is like a G Force machine not a motorbike, great fun though. Suzuki put a top speed limit on it off 187 MPH instead of 200MPH.

I had a number of sports bikes , Last real 1 was a R1 track bike and it was a weapon

I wan't getting enough time in the saddle so I bought a ducati monster ( I thought it would be a good bike to cruise around on ) wrong I still couldn't control the right hand

I'm so happy now with the harley, it's so comfy and you can cruise all day long

My mates got a Fireblade and he got rid of it due to the pain in wrist/neck etc..............so he bought another Jappa and guess what...........he's complaining because he still has the same problem!! He loves his streeters so he's either gonna have to deal with it or buy something a bit more sensible.

    They do bloody fly though

I have both, the best of both worlds.
But I don't like the head down arse up set ups of the sportbikes, but I like the brakes and power, that's why streetfighters are right up my alley.
you get to sit up on them, plus have everything they offer, and you get to build it yourself so it's a one off.
