I've used nail polish remover to 'shape' the polystyrene to fit better... just have to be real carefull otherwise it will rapidley eat away the polystyrene ...

Walk into bike shop say "excuse me luv could I have the thinest legal open face you sell please? No No in flat black please." Take thus aformention lid home, leave lining alone. Go to shed and find the panel beating dolly and 4lb hammer if required. Crack first frosty, place helmet in lap and proceed to "break in". Walah instant low profile lid.
Just make sure you pick one too small. Oh and by the way it's pretty well useless for it's intended purpose after you alter the lining in anyway.

Hey Picker I just had a thought. have you tried throwing it in the washing machine? it might shrink a bit.

I just dont' check myself out when the Helmet is on, that works.

so really what you're saying is that your need to enlarge your helmet to fit your enormous massive huge bonce, haha.

i allways buy the xsmall and hammer it out to size it takes about a 6 pack in time but its worth it

or just rip the liner out altogether like this

It just doesn't happen.
Picker, I'll wager that once you get your bike and take it for a ride, then the appearance of your head will be the furthest thing from your mind mate.
That being said, if your concern for your appearance is so great that it affects your enjoyment of the bike, then you'd probably want to sit down and rethink your reasons for wanting to ride a motorcycle in the first place.

I think people reading this thread have totally taken this as a vanity thing - it's absolutely not. The feeling of riding 100% trumps the concern for how it looks.
I've got a particularly tall head, some might even call it 'unfortunate looking' haha... Even if I get a lid that technically fits me, it sits so high that the bottom of it pulls underneath my ears and is quite uncomfortable (I've tried on basically every brand you can think of and its the same deal) so knocking a bit out of the top and making it sit lower will release that pressure on the ears. If I get a lid thats big enough to not pull on the ears then its too loose everywhere else and rattles around.

I might even cave and just get a full face if this doesn't work out. I hate them though - may as well be in a cage.

are you sure that your head is too high Picker? i am starting to think that your ears might be too long.  why dont you go to the quack and ask him for an ear lift?

I read the thread at the beginning, thought it a bit odd, but it just kept getting responses, so I just had another quick look.

Ok, Picker , will you just take some pics of yourself with the helmet of concern on your mellon, (blank your face out, we don't want members having nightmares ), so we can really see what the problem may be.
Then we may be able to give some constructive advice ,,, or put more shit on you !!!!!
