The VE tables (volumetric efficiency) are what's being tuned.

One needs to understand that you (Vtune) are adjusting the VE tables and NOT the AFR/Lambda. By placing the AFR/Lambda tables to Closed loop this allows the ECM to make the adjustments it needs to calibrate the VE tables so the desired AFR/Lambda is really achieved. Once completed if the Ve tables look the same it just means our base calibration was very close to being spot on to start with. By turn the AFR/Lambda table back to as supplied you are now going to run some areas in Closed Loop and others in Open Loop at higher rpm's and loads. Hope this explains it for you.

I'm getting a little confused here. The tables you posted above are of the map table, not the VE tables, of which there are two (front & rear). In your post #125 your second picture shows the table that was generated from your DataMaster data & VTuned with the installed cal. If you click on "accept" that would have generated the new map. With all the red & pink cells showing in that picture, the cells must have changed from the original cal. - Rob

Sorry to confuse you 2 weeks ago I didnt know the difference between a VE table and a Kitchen table. I am still only just above confused idiot on the Tuning scale but I think I get the VE / AFR Lambda thingy now. Will go back over the Vtune runs and try and work out if i stuffed anythng. the original cal worked well in the bike so that can now be my default cal if all else fails.

sorry to all for any frustration caused and thanks for your patience and time

    cheers

just compared VE tables for front and rear cylinders DAB358 vs my final cal lots of change mainly higher numbers in my final cal. i guess that means more fuel. that also explains why so hard to get data in the 2% row 1000rpm or higher ( is that physically possible even)

large light bulb above my head DOOOOOOOHHHHHH

    thanks Hilly
