I just replaced the old tapered wheelbearings with sealed bearings .

It used to wander at high speed something shocking now it is so stable it doesn't feel like the same bike.

Kit was 44-2995 v twin the kits are for the rear but work on the front if you trim about 5 mm from the spacer and the speedo drive i just measured the old tapered bearing and took the difference out.

My aim is to improve on the many faults my bike has as i have been doing along the way.And to make my bike mine and to the purists they are quite welcome to do what they like on their own bikes if they don't like what i do to mine it's just a bit of tough luck lol

good one, sealed bearings seem to keep weather out better, so last, also spinn easier so maybe less fuel?

brings back memory of a guy i meet in USA 13 14 years back, he knew HD went sealed ball bearing in wheels, he needed new wheel bearings so  went to abearing place got some sealed ball bearings that fitted. he was riding to work next day crossing a big old meatal bridge that goes up about as high as say Gladesville bridge in Sydney, its in a big city about 80 mile south of Myrtle Beach SC any way he uis at the top going down a big hill in or on the bridge. & his front brake locks the front wheel up for no reason, the bike skids sideways tiward the side ralling of bridge a long way up, he hits the side railing his head goes over the edge a bit & he looks down, real long drop to the water. then the brake lets go the bike rolls forward he gets it under control rides down till he is off bridge & can stop (heart still racing ). the sealed rollers he used had no side loading so let wheel move side ways. he got new tappered rollers . but the correct sealed ball bearings are great.

cheers ( true story ) think it was St Louis SC
