Hey guys. Travelling to Canada in a week or so. We were going to buy helmets there but find we will have room to carry our own. I have a HD helmet that has a "dot" sticker so this should be ok. Wifey has a N42 Nolan only with AS sticker. Will hers fly if we get pulled up. Any help greatly appreciated.

Never been checked and as long as your  wearing one that is approved its O.K., as long as your not riding like a jerk or speeding the cops leave you alone. Cops are RCMP outside the main cities and they are relatively intelligent and we have stringent laws to protect our rights in Canada.

Where are you going and for how long etc? My mother - in -law lives in Sterling.

Thanks Sanyasi. Like a wine or two so thats a good start. Eagleriders have been great. Harleys were hard to come by as we tried to book a bit later than our friends but they managed to come up with a RK in the end. Looking foward to seeing your beautifull country. Will put up some photos as I get a chance.

I'd highly recommend heading over to Vancouver Island and riding up and down Highway 19, from Port Hardy down to Victoria. Also, heading east-west, the ride through the Pacific Rim Highway from Qualicum Beach to Tofino is phenomenal, albeit very twisty once you pass Port Alberni through the mountain pass. But, the air you breath out there doesn't get much cleaner!

And stop in to have breakfast at Lefty's in Qualicum Beach!

The Eagleriders trip does not have a guide. They just supply the bikes and arrange accomodation for us. Up to us how we manage the trip once we leave. We are heading to Vancouver Island for a week after the Rockies ride but doing that by car. Thats a kick back bit with a waterfront cabin with spa on the deck and a few day trips if we feel like it. Along with some good food and local beverages.

We then fly to San Francisco, pick up a Mustang and head down the west coast highway and do Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and LA. Cruisy road trip. Then it stopover in Hawaii on the way back for a few days.

All up just shy of 6 weeks. A bit of everthing along the way keeps wifey happy otherwise would have done the whole lot by bike. She is as keen on the bike travel as I am but another time maybe.

By the way just decided to take our own helmets anyway.

Sounds like a great trip planned. Make sure they actually have a Mustang rental for you though. We went two years ago and had a Mustang convertible booked. Got to L.A. and were surprised to see a Chrysler Sebring convertible instead!! It sure was a let down. They rental mob wasn't real concerned...

Ready for the let down mate. Not too fussed as long as its convertable. Had planned on getting a Camaro or GT Mustang but 3k for 9 days was a bit over the top. One way seems to be an issue over there. Initial prices looked good but the fkn taxes and return fees blew it out of the water. May still try and upgrade when we get over there. Its a busy time over there and bookings were getting pretty short. Two weeks ago could not book a convertable but could last night.

Thanks very much for the heads up mate. Nothing beats local knowledge. Have noted all from you and looking foward to kicking back with good food and a few brews as well as the scenery.
