Hi All

I have a 2012 softail with anm issue with battery light coming on

i started coming on once every couple of weeks  for a min or two now it comes on every ride over 20 min for a couple of min.

any ideas

I could be wrong, but I remember the words "fucked voltage regulator" being thrown around while solving a similar problem awhile ago.

Thanks for that its pretty much what I thought  ill have to run some tests and see how we go really appreciate the info.

Hey all

Finally completed some tests on my bike and found following results.
i have 1.2 ohms resistance on all three wires from stator.
i have NO sort to ground on stator wires.
unable to get an accurate voltage reading from stator seems to jump around a fair bit.
after i unplugged the resistor and plugged it back in after some test i found the charge rate was right up to 14.43v and after running for around ten min it slowly dropped to 12.7 -12.6 - 12.5 - 12.4 - 12.3 and then down to 11.56v
i let it sit over night and rechecked charge at battery again and seemed ok again for about ten min of running and then dropped of again.
all the specs i have found state .2 to .7 ohms at stator wires could this be a stator issue more than regulator
your thoughts
