Hey guys.  On the hunt for a set of new pegs for my 48.  Found tons that I would like, but none of them fit them fit the 48 for reasons I don't understand.  Anyone know why that would be?

I love just Stealth footpegs from Harley, but they don't fit pretty much any of the Sportster range.

The peg mount is different. The top part extends out further than the bottom. An easy fix us just grind it to match the bottom and any peg will fit. Joker machine make done nice pegs but take way too long to get. I just recently got a set of speed merchant pegs and love them. I'm now a retailer for th also if you want a set.

If you don't want to grind anything, figure machine make specific pegs for the 48/72, although they had so much slop when I fitted mine I was not happy at all. Had to use a washer to get it right.

    Hi

On the weekend I was at Frasers at Concord and spoke to Con the spare parts manager about this problem. He stated that they found the answer to rectify the issue as it was annoy a lot of harley 48 owners.

The simple issue if you dont want to grind away then you can change the Clevis "Shaft that the Footpegs Bold to" from your current one to the Harley parts.

Part Number H 42541-04 Clevis,Footpeg Rid Price $46.31 Qty 1 and H 42566-04 Clevis, Footpeg RID Price $46.31 Please note that most shops do not keep these in stock and they would have to order them in

After this has been completed you can use the Footpeg that you choose...Hope this help.

Used a dremel 4000 on mine cut the excess off like knife through butter. Don't be scared to cut and chop that's what customizing is all about.

I did this mod yesterday actually to fit my new hippy killer brass pegs, piss easy to do, 5 mins on the grinder each side and you are done. Took longer to find the grinder.
