    Abit of a back story..

Finally got one of my dads older harleys all fixed up at a shop and they've told me the frame has been cut and they won't do a road worthy for it.. now being from queensland i dont really understand the process victorians go through..
Apparently the frame has been cut so the belt drive would fit but i really have no idea haha

Do i really need an engineering certificate? Are they costly?

Lastly.. Anyone recommend a place that might look over this minor detail of a frame cut ? :)

Any help / ideas is appreciated!

They are needed if the frame has been modified; which by the sounds of it it has. Its about $1,500 - $2,000 for the engineer.

Drop into VPW (they are a sponsor here i think) as they may be able to hook you up with a good one if you ask right. I think Walka on this forum knows them.

It was registered in Queensland i would think they would've spotted it there but i doubt it.

    Thanks for the suggestion tussuck

I would suggest if you have the previous paperwork from QLD, just try another roadworthy shop.
They probably wouldn't have a clue it has been modified.

+1 there....Its way cheaper than the engineering front. Particularly if the mods a not that obvious.

How easy is it to tell the frame has been tweaked?
