Hi guys
stupid me bought second hand set of v&h big shots black. Was told suit dynas 2006 up
my 2013 fatbob has smaller sensors 12 mm??? Then exhaust has a larger thread size 18 mm ???
Is there an adapter I can buy to reduce the thread to suit smaller sensors. ?
Any advice would be appreciated
if can't use them then up for sale.
Cheers bob

Thanks speedzter
have you used these?
Looks like might save me a heap of lost $$$
cheers

Hilly no the front one is up much closer to the engine end of the pipe.
Will probably be 200 mm short on lead
man what a f##k up
Should have asked first.
Thanks Hilly
might be all too much hassle. Go back to my s & s slipons and get cat and flap removed. Will put the big shots up for sale. Have tts and a/c coming so is probably all for the best. More HP and less copper hassle
Hi Dynoharley
thanks but should have been clearer.
The lead will not reach now it is too short. Would need longer lead or to move the screw in the exhaust.
Cheers
Hi Robots
which kit is that. The bass anti one? Please explain in small words as I am mechanically challenged. Hehe
is it a kit with 2 screw in reducing adapters and a longer lead for the front sensor.
Thanks for your feedback
would this work?

Riders wanting to use an exhaust system from an 09 HD Touring bike on their 2010 and later H-D Touring bike could find this swap difficult because Harley changed the type of O2 sensor and the location of the sensors. The new Delphi 4-wire sensor is a small thread versus the more conventional 18mm thread of the in the earlier HD Touring bikes. The new Delphi 4-wire sensor is a small thread versus the more conventional 18mm thread of the in the earlier bikes. This adapter kit allows the relocation of the small 4-wire Delphi sensor to the position used in earlier exhaust systems using the 2-wire sensors. The relocation kit includes bung adapters and an O2 wiring harness extension. The 12mm O2 Sensor Relocation Kit is compatible with the FL-XiED-10 and FL-ViED-10, allowing Riders to richen their fuel mixtures. Cool thanks a heap Robots.
I have TTS in the post on the way from us to go with pipes and air cleaner. Now I can still try the big shots out.
Thanks heaps guys.

Just get 2 x 10mm 02 exhaust Bosses may take some finding as 18mm seems to be more common either from ebay or the local exhaust shop and have them welded in at the required position, pick up 2x 18mm 02 plugs and screw in to the current bungs. Stay away from steel Allen head type bungs, you may never get them out with out destroying the Boss
Hilly
what you are saying makes sense. The rear bung is in the same location as the original one. The front bung in v&h is 300mm closer to where exhaust meets engine than the stock one.
Nightrider sell the kit with 2 adapters and a longer lead with electrical plugs for the front one. Must be a few nuggets like me out there.
Are you saying that the tuning won't adapt to the changed location of the front sensor.
I would be happy to give it a go as I want to hear the pipes but am reasonably sure I will go back to the slipons after because of the noise factor.
Now that you have brought the tuning issue up will know what is wrong if doesn't tune properly.
( have read too much good stuff to blame tts. Nearly always is operator error when components don't work)
Thanks ozymax
heaps of Allen head ones on the market so great advice to stay clear. Would only have to move one bung and swap out rear one if I could find someone to do it. Might try calling an exhaust shop.
Any good exhaust guys northern adelaide ?..
Dynoharley
the rear bungs are in same location Front one is 200 - 300 mm closer to the head in the v & h than the stock one.
will that affect readings dramatically
it will very minmal , i have played with o2 sensor tubes up pipes and started at 200 mm from head and moved it back 50 mm at time to 300 mm back and redone readings , and all good , but if it was all out engine then you would want the o2 at same distance from exhaust port , but then different shapes headers and lengths will change back presure to each cyclinder which controls what afr reading will be , your eng would be fine , but the adaptors as some one pointed out nearly schroud the o2 sensors , have also been running o2 in my falcon eng naturaly aspirated in cyclinder 1 and 8 to get the long runners not to run leaner than short runners , to road tune compared to dyno changed afr reading by full point , different air speeds and air presures to intake system change afr readings , forced induction at 130 mph at 400 mtr run changed afr readings to the stage it was running lean , i will be tuneing my 2012 106 bike this way in next few weeks and compare dyno afr readings at 6500 rpm compared to fast afr logger that i have , sounds like the the items found on night rider the go , , cheers
Thanks heaps for your input guys.
Still think I will give it a go with the adapters first. If no good then will get them cut out and redone with the right size.
Again thanks.
