Hey guys,
Just new to this forum, Was wanting to know what's involved in swapping black heads from an 883 for polished heads on a Forty-eight.
Can you just straight swap with new seals in each??
Cheers!
Hey thanks for all the replies!
I'm in talking just the rocket covers!!
the 883 has been bord out to 1200 also!!
Cheers
that is correct george , i have just bored early 883 cyclinders to 1200 , 10.1 comp , screamin eagle cams , standard throttle body etc , bike stock tuned went 54 rwhp on my dyno , then i bought the correct pistons to suit , i ported the intake and exhaust ports ,, 4 angle job on the seat and 2 on the valve , this bike then went 83 rwhp , the bike eng is also very responsive down low due to the correct port velosity , it made 4 hp more than a full se kit with the same cams and 1200 se heads untouched , the standard head can produce very good power with out expensive work ,
hi t1 , was set at forty .040, wiseco 10.1 pistons pistons to suit 883 flywheel weights and 883 chambered heads , cams s/e 25649-1a , eng ended up very torquey low and mid range , suprised me when i rode it how well it pulled , but then bike still had standard 883 gearing , felt bit short gearing wise , but owner likes it , mechanicaly eng has bit of cam valve train noise , would have liked to have fitted ajustable push rods but was budget build for owner ,
Getting slightly off topic, but loving reading this thread guys. Keep it coming!
the 883 head tidied up made it cost effective for the customer, would like to have tried it with 1200 pulley as figures would have read higher than with lower gearing , customer happy thou , top gear roll ons , he leaves all the tc behind
Boys I'm overwhelmed with the response's!
Thank you to all who posted, there is a lot to process as I'm not aware of the tech side and performance options..
I was also wondering if anyone here does custom made exhauset's for a 2012 HD forty eight??
any help would be great!
