I think you have to advertise it as what it really is, a modified FLD Switchback.
The real trick will be setting a realistic sale price that you will still be happy with.

I don't want to tell you how to suck eggs but middle of winter is a less than ideal time to sell so I ask the question. Have you inquired as to what you would get as a trade?

Reason being it's a quieter time for Motorcycle sales so maybe you can get a decent changeover.

Having said that I'd sell it as what it is a 2012 FLD. Peeps will immediately see from the photos that it is clearly modified.

Perhaps hit up Heavy Duty or one of the other aussie mags, i'm sure they would jump at the chance to feature it and what better way to generate interest.

Good luck with it, custom one off, expect to drop a lot of cash, maybe as Steve said trade in on

new might be the easiest and quickest instead of fucking with all the Muppets.

    Hi,

Yeah good suggestion big steve, would be great spread in one of the bike mags and may help to get a better than trade in price which csb maybe battling with at the shops at the moment

Some of the bikes in the mags are just way over the top

    Thanks

I agree with big steve winter `s not a good time but if your wanting a new streety it will probably be sumer before you get it if you order now, I would say modified switchback / modern  duo Glide lookalike that way you get people who want a switchback as well as people who might want a modern classic, good luck..I recon the Stealers would insult you if you went to them

They will still give you a shit price , These dealers (harley ) they have set profits and they will not go to far away from them . With yours i can gaurantee that you will get the spiel , , I know it looks good but no one will want it , people wpould rather buy a switchback and custimize it themselves , , Sorry but its not worth more to us , perhaps a bit less than if it was normal .

Your gonna drop cash , no doubt about that , so just advertize it for what it is , i reckon there weill be a harley owner out there who will want it , so sell it private , just remember that its gonna be hard to get someone to pay cold cash , becuase you had a dream , they will probaby buy it because it looks different , If the price is right ,

Be a good idea to take it to a dealer and see what they will give at a guess i reckon they will offer around 14-15 grand telling you that switchbacks are not a good seller , but yours is worth a bit more becuase of the work , then it wil be back on the floor at $23500 . Just guessing , let us know how close i am .

Good luck with it China. You know how to use your camera so make the most of the mods in the photos to upsell a bit. Dont think the stealers will help you much though. And by the way you told me not to go for a streetywink

    China,

If you get no bites on the bike, Try this, Ive seen it done before on cars, caravans, ect.

First thing is ya gotta get your add noticed rather than skipped over.

    Advertise for

$1200 or 1300  hundred dollars more than your selling price,

Advertise a $1000 free fuel card or $1000 Gift card to a shop of buyers choice, or pay a $1000 of his mortgage or electricity bill, Even a HD shop gift card, or a free new helmit and leather jacket and boots to the value of $1000 upon sale and full payment of bike.

Let him talk ya down the 300 dollars or so and dont supply the gift card or let him talk you down the gift card $1000, Either way if bike sells you might be up $300.

But more importantly, Get the add noticed and read, Not glanced at or skipped over.

Ive actually seen this work before due the many more that read the add rather than glance over tyre kicken so to speak. More chance of selling if you get people out to look at it in the flesh. In this economy, Ya might have to think outside the square so to speak.

BTW China, Nice ride ya got there.

Good on ya China. I love my RK but still miss my old Heritage. More a first Harley thing but do regret selling it. Had them both in the shed  for a couple of months. But SWMBO talked me into selling. She was an absolute sweetheart my old girl. Think I got rid of the wrong one.frownbroken heart

Good move China as you got a sweet looking custom ride. lately I've toying with the idea of selling up myself but just can't do it. Never felt that way with the Jap bikes though as i couldn't unload them fast enough ?

    Hi

Sooo China did you keep the retro Swtchback?     It is a great looking bike.   Starting a project a bit like that myself, with a 92 Heritage.

I see a beautifull red FLH that you bought in another post.

    Cheers Doug
