The prototypes have been available for media test rides in the US - plenty of write ups on the web. Speed limited to 95mph; 0 - 60mph in 4 seconds, 53 mile range and 3.5 hour recharge (although there is some variation in the write ups - Harley hasn't released specs). Overwhelmingly positive response in the media though. Pretty slick for a prototype . . . .
I'll have one if anyone is giving them away . . .

Electric vehicles and motorbikes are a great idea but the current electricity grids will not support a high volume EV fleet. It will be at least another 100 years before EV's become the petrol car of today. But by then electricity will be so expensive no one will want an electric car or bike anyway. Imo the future in transport will be magnet power .
She has some nice lines............

I do like the look of the Electric HD Bike the more I look at it.
Not to concerned if it doesnt have the tradional look of a Harley, this is next generation styling so it should have something completely different.
After all Harley Davidson has looked the same for over 110 years now so its time they had a styling change, im not worried about that purist crap.
May take HD another 110 years to try and perfect the Electric bike :-)
Here's a link to a review of the Livewire by Cycle World.

I like the Livewire has a great style to it, sounds neat :-)
Also it probably out performs most of the current Harleys which they produce now.
