I've been rocking a Schampa as my base layer for a few winters now. I'd best discribe it as a cross between thermal, fleece and a wetsuit. There are a few differeny shirt options. I went for long sleeves with thumb holes because it nicely covers the overlap of your jacket and glove. I'll also add a hooded version this year I reckon.
This shirt has been one of the best pieces of kit i've used. For around $50 you can't go wrong.

Living in the upper yarra and riding year round means it gets pretty cold.
My coldest day on the bike last year was -4 this shirt is a must for those riding through winter. It also does a good job of keeping the wet feeling away from your skin if you're riding in heavy rain.
thanks Big Steve.
cheers Jimmy
Just ordered one, and a couple of neck warmers (one for me, one for the missus).
