Can anyone tell me where this exhaust "flapper valve" I keep hearing about is supposed to be??  Had a good look around mine and can't see anything obvious.  A pic of the location would be good.

Did you buy the bike second hand ?? If so the original owner has changed to aftermarket pipes with no Active Exhaust Valve .
To answer your question, the active exhaust valve on stock bikes is located at the end of the header pipe just before slip on mufflers on the right side. Google "Harley active exhaust valve" , and you will get pics etc.
By the way, the Active Exhaust Valve is only on international bikes, ie , Australia and others, not in the USA.

It's on the top downpipe near the rear footpeg. Has a wire cable running to it from a wee servomotor
