Preventative maintenance for the long term mile muncher.

I'm approaching 60,000 on my 2010 Dyna. Motor has a stage 1 and I have no real plans to change anything major except for a set of cams at 64,000 (along with cam chain tensioners). I suspect the exhaust probably needs a re-pack so it might get swapped but apart from that nothing else.

What should I factor into the budget in terms of replacements. I'd much prefer to swap things out before they leave me stranded or at least have them if needed.

So far I was thinking that I should at least grab spares of the following should I need to swap them out:
battery (Obviously i'd swap this straight away)
    drive belt
    clutch

What else should I think of doing? Motor internals maybe like tappets or bearings or any other stuff that tends to go with high miles I should at least put on my radar?

    Thanks in advance.

China, did your bike come with Dot 5 (synthetic) ?
Or have you changed things around, as I thought all the late bikes went back to Dot4 ?
I flushed out all the Dot4 when I did the Brembo upgrade, and went to Dot5.

    Brake fluid.

My brake light has been staying on occasionally, which I though was a faulty switch.  Turns out my front MC was gunked up with about a teaspoon of sludge from the Harley DOT5 I've been using for the last 18 months.  Never seen anything like that before.  I cleaned out my MC and refilled with the same BF.  Will swap it out before it gunks up again.

The manual says change BF every 2 years.

My bike turned 2 last week and now has a mere 51,000 on it.  Runs better than new.

I might swap my belt soon just to be careful.

    Cheers mate

Did all fluids (fork oil and brakes included) at 32,000 and they'll get done again at 64,000.

So when are you picking up a Street Glide? wink

Brake Fluids....They changed back to Dot 4 when ABS was introduced.

Something to do with viscosity under pressure. Probably suggest you Google it...saves me doing it ...LOL...The two, Dot 4 and 5 don't mix well. Dot 5.1 is actually a Dot 4, and a few have fucked up over the past with that one.
