customizing my reach

    Hi all,

I have a 2012 fatboy, extended forward reach controls, chrome & rubber type pegs, standard seat. I am 5'11, but have a couple of plates in my right ankle/leg.  I installed the extended forward controls to give me more leg stretch room as the plates limit some of my ankle movement (up/down).  I think i now need to lower the seat height & move backward a bit, although this will make my brake pedal reach worse, i prefer the stretched leg look on some of the chopper types around, but i am not overly tall.  Any ideas on seat type, lowering the bike, or does anyone else have these type of questions, all help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Woodsy

If you have foot pegs maybe go back to floor boards and change the linkage lengths on the controls to change the pedal location. Only an idea without finding a fatty to see if it would work. Put a block on the pedal or cut the pedal arm and weld it back on in a better spot, make an adapter plate up that shifts the whole mount forwards or back a bit on the one side, powder coat it black and no one would notice. Stock pedals are easy and cheap to get to modify one. Just realised why you now use pegs instead, lol.

Mustang make a "fastback" seat I think it was that puts you down and back a bit while still being comfortable, Saddlemen, and Corbin seats as well. Those thin low seats from Le pera or Danny Grey are only good for 15 minutes, next pub and thats about it, two 30 minute rides and I sold mine, the second 30 minutes was to get the bike back home.
