After some advise on best SE cam for low end power around rev range 1500 - 3200. Bike is 2013 Fatboy lo with SE performance ventilator, V&H big radius 2 into 2 have SEPST and bike was dynoed for this setup. From what I've read looks like it shoud be between the SE-254e and SE-204. Next big question is it better to use adjustable pushrods and cut out the stock ones or go through the top end re-use stock pushrods. Not planning on other engine mods at this stage. thanks

Probably hasn't got a tacho, so hopefully he's revving a bit higher than that ??
Pushrods are a personal choice really, as long as the cams have a close to stock base circle.

Guys I don't change gears at 1500 or cruise at that rev level, was just trying to get across that I want more power right off idel and get up to upto cruising speed. Not really after more top end speed but want to be able to get off the line fast and more pick up for overtaking etc. normally switch gear between 3000 to 4000 cruise at around 2400

l had the SE 255's in mine , for what l do shifting usually no higher than 4 they provided a lot more grunt over the stock cams. With those cams l fitted adjustable push rods. l replaced these because of starter issues and now run S&S 583 easy starts

My bike is an 09 96 cube or was , when l fitted the 103 kit to it, the 255's came with it and l had too higher compression and the starter was having a hard time . With the newer 103's you have decompressors built into your heads and its for that reason. Obviously depending on what cam you choose you will not have any problem re camming your engine. Take your bike to a quality work shop and the mechanics there will be able to help you select the right cam to suit your riding style

bob, what sag said is spot on, once you have a builder that comes highly recommended you have no reason to be nervous. starter issues wont be a problem for you with a 103, its just a matter of cam selection.
a word of warning, cams will just be the start once you have the bug

    Thanks guys

yeah Daggs you are so right. Bike is not even 1 year old yet. When I bought it I thought pipes a/c and xieds  would be heaps. Then I read about tts and want one? Then my bros bought a sporty which sounds bit more throaty then my bob and I am now looking at just bolt in cams. Buying a harley is not just a bike but a whole new hobby.

the mechanic I have been recommended to suggested high flow a/c, bolt in andrews cam ( didn't say which one yet) adjustable push rods, cut out cat and flap. Then send to lushy for tune with bought license for pcv.

I am keen on all except pcv license as I think the tts is the one of buy that will cover any other bits I do later.

Any suggestions on which andrews cam is most suitable for my riding style ( off the lights to 4500 rpm is 95% of where I ride) love the acelleration early and love the lumpy idle when sitting at lights.

Bear in mind I have NO MECHANICAL abilities whatsoever so anything harder than putting on a tri bar is beyond me ( scratched the rear fender and took 1/2 the back of the bike off unnecessarily doing it ) thanks in advance for any feedback guys it's very helpful.

Lushy is the man for tuning, he tuned mine too.
As you are going to get him to tune it, ring and ask him to recommend which tuning module you should get and also take his and your builders advice on parts you use.

Will do. Just wanted to learn a bit about parts as I have no idea and trusting some one with my first harley is a big step.

Also didn't want to waste professional mechs  time with what about this what about that million questions as different pros will suggest different setups. Ones they have used and are comfortable with. They may all work well just differently.

I think I have it all sorted except which Andrew cam. I will trust the pros on that call.

Thanks heaps for feedback sometimes just hearing same advise from different sources tells you you are on the right track.

    Cheers

No worries! I'd still ask him about the tuner though
