Hey guys, 

I haven't been able to find a filter cover that I like to suit the arlen ness filter.

I had the idea to get some checker plate cut to size and paint it black. 

Got the local alloy fab place to cut it out, cost me $40. Came home hit it with some hammer tone black. Wasn't to happy with how it looked so I sanded it to give it the rough look with some alloy showing. I am thinking about sanding it all off and going with gloss or Matt black. 

Let me know what yas think. Or if anyone knows of a filter cover that looks alright and not to plastic looking.

I actually reckon it's pretty good as is. Checker plate always goes good. Try the gloss and the matte and post pics.

Hard to tell from the pics, but I like it as is. Original and stands out on a good way.
